Has your Spanish citizenship application been rejected? It’s not the end of the road.

You have one month to rescue your case. Act now.

Receiving a refusal decision is a heavy blow, but in many cases it can be reversed. The authorities make mistakes: documents they didn’t see, police records that have already been cancelled, or IT errors.

At LRJ Abogados – Solicitors, we don’t give up. We analyse your refusal free of charge to see whether it is worth appealing. If it is, we file the administrative appeal (recurso de reposición) immediately online.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: TIME IS RUNNING

From the moment you receive the notification, you have only 30 days to file the appeal. After that, the refusal becomes final and you would have to start from scratch. Don’t wait until the last day.

📋 Feasibility Review

We read your refusal decision. If there is no real chance of success, we tell you honestly (we don’t want you to waste your money).

⚖️ Legal Drafting

We prepare an appeal with a solid legal basis – not a standard template.

💻 Online Filing

We submit it electronically to the Audiencia Nacional (National Court) or the Ministry of Justice, as appropriate, using our digital lawyer’s certificate.

We monitor the case and inform you as soon as there is a response.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is Spanish nationality refused?
The most common reasons are: criminal/police records that have not been cancelled, errors in surnames or personal data, lack of integration (exams) or an expired residence card during the process.

How long does the appeal take to be resolved?
The administration formally has 1 month to reply, but in practice it can take longer. However, by filing the appeal we “revive” your file and keep it alive in the system.

Can I file the appeal myself?
It is a legally complex procedure. A mistake in the wording or legal arguments of the appeal can close the door definitively. We strongly recommend doing it with a qualified, registered lawyer.
